Natalie Kelly, PhD, ABPP-CN

Comes from a family with a history of providing services within the field of healthcare and rehabilitation. It is from this early exposure to meeting the needs of others that her interest in mental health and specifically cognitive care developed. She has also always been passionate about supporting the development of children, adolescents, and young adults. Becoming a pediatric neuropsychologist is the fulfillment of her professional dreams which began many years ago.

Location.

StepWise Youth Neuropsychological Services is located in the beautiful city of Claremont, California also fondly known as “The city of trees and PhDs”. Dr. Kelly has always enjoyed the energy and culture of the city and is grateful to be a professional in this community. Her office is situated in an ADA-accessible location.

Experience.

Dr. Kelly earned her doctorate in Clinical Rehabilitation Psychology from Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) and completed her clinical internship in Pediatric Psychology at Children’s Hospital of Michigan in 2008. She then went on to complete her two year postdoctoral fellowship in Pediatric Neuropsychology at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center in 2010. Prior to starting her practice, she worked at City of Hope in Duarte, CA for 13 years providing cognitive care and neuropsychological evaluation for youth with various cancer diagnoses.

Dr. Kelly has been double-boarded in both Clinical Neuropsychology and as a subspecialist in Pediatric Neuropsychology since 2014 by the American Board of Professional Psychology/American Board of Clinical Neuropsychology.  Board certification requires that the professional’s clinical work is reviewed by a committee of their peers in a multi-step process and provides a standardized approach through which the skills of a neuropsychologist are vetted.  Board certification in the field of Neuropsychology is a voluntary process and is not required for licensure. Therefore, Dr. Kelly’s pursuit of board certification in two areas demonstrates her commitment to the pursuit of professional excellence.  She also highly values remaining up to date on the latest research in the field and incorporating this knowledge into her clinical care.

Dr. Kelly is an active member of several professional organizations and serves on the Advisory Board for the Society for Black Neuropsychology. She has also mentored numerous trainees as well as those seeking board certification in Neuropsychology. She maintains an active license in the state of California with the Board of Psychology.
